Review: New York Toy Collective Jack 2-in-1

jack_screm.pngThe moment I saw the Jack 2-in-1 announced on New York Toy Collective’s social media, I knew I wanted to review it. This silicone toy is a cross between a masturbation sleeve and a packer, allowing the user to penetrate it and then use a jacking off motion to crate stimulation, with an added visual. The idea seemed really cool to me- while the motion of using sleeves feel super gender affirming to me, there have been times when actually looking down has caused a bit of a weird disconnect. Finding that there was a product intended to help with that issue, and by NYTC (one of my favourite manufacturers) no less was super exciting.

The Jack comes in four colour options, all of them skin tones- a light skin tone (sold as vanilla on SheVibe but called cashew by NYTC), two mid-tones (caramel and hazelnut, although only caramel is available from SheVibe) and a dark skin tone– all available for $59. The shaft of the penis itself is 3 inches long, although the cavity only extends 2.5 inches into it. The overall diameter of the Jack is 1.5 inches, with the cavity having a minimum diameter of 3/8 of an inch.

jack_on_hand.pngThe first thing I noticed on opening the Jack is how soft it was. A lot of the sleeve toys I have are much firmer than the Jack, especially the silicone ones- the only sleeve I have that’s really comparable in terms of squish is the TPE Buck Off. I prefer softer textures when it comes to penetratable toys, but those who prefer firmer toys for penetration might find the Jack too soft for them. The silicone is, admittedly, a little sticky to the touch. I’ve found myself having to dust the Jack with corn starch 1 to stop it being quite as much a lint magnet, and that’s one of my few complaints about the Jack.

While I knew that the Jack can stretch, I was still a little concerned that it might be too small and tight for me. The base hole diameter of 0.5 inches is the same as the Gendercat sleeve I reviewed, which I’ve found to be too tight for anything other than the very head of my cock. While I was able to manage to my hood and not just the head of my cock into the Jack, it took a while to figure out how to do that. My initial attempts involved trying to roll the Jack open, and then rolling it onto myself, but I found more success in putting my head and some of my hood into the Jack, and then just pushing more of the hood in.

While the Jack will work for people with anatomies larger than 1/2 an inch in diameter, it won’t create suction for people who are smaller. I don’t see a reason the Jack can’t be used with post-metodioplasty genitals, and that’s something I’ll try once I’m post-op, although I am a little concerned that balls might get in the way for those who’ve had scrotoplasty as part of their bottom surgery.

jack_hole.pngThe internal cavity of the Jack does have ridges, but in use I didn’t feel them much. The primary sensation was suction, and while it’s not the tightest or most intense suction I’ve got from a sleeve toy, but I didn’t consciously feel like I wanted the Jack’s suction to be more intense when using it.It did take me a bit of time to figure exactly how hard to make my jerking motions to hit that sweet spot of ‘feeling like jacking off, but also not pulling the Jack off my actual genitals’ but once I found that, using the Jack felt so good and natural, and gender euphoric in a way I didn’t expect it to be?

I definitely have bottom dysphoria, and I’m going to have bottom surgery as a way to manage that, but I didn’t think the combination of motion and visual would have such a significant impact on me. I expected the visual to be fun for sure, but not to have an entire Gender Moment™️. It was super cool and unexpected! I actually haven’t really enjoyed using sleeves during partnered sex for the most part before, but because the Jack feels like an extension of my body and because the motion of using it feels so natural in combination with that, I didn’t feel that way.

That said, it did take me a while to get used to the fact jerking off meant the balls slapped my vulva. I do tend to like ball slapping during sex 2, so it doesn’t weird me out or feel unsexy, but it’s just a bit… odd? And has brought me out of the gender euphoria headspace a couple of times.

jack_packer.pngJack is sold as a 2-in-1, in that it’s meant to be usable as a packer, as well as a stroker. I was super excited by the idea that I could roll the Jack onto my dick and wear it like that, so I had to try packing it. First, I tried to roll it onto my junk, hoping that a suction would keep it in place. Unfortunately, while this worked for a couple of minutes, the Jack fell off pretty quickly. While I had more success combining rolling it onto my junk with tight underwear, the way that the Jack moved kept pulling it off me in an uncomfortable way.

But if placed in underwear without being rolled onto my junk? While the Jack is definitely on the small side compared to most soft packers, it works perfectly fine!

I’m the kind of person who likes to pack as large as they can get away with, so the Jack isn’t ideal for me in terms of dimensions, but there definitely is a noticeable bulge. I was a little concerned that the sticking out shaft shape of the Jack would make it hard to fold for packing, but (possibly because of the level of silicone softness), it stays in place really well! I wouldn’t use it as a daily packer personally because I have plenty of other soft packing options that work better for me in terms of size, but you can use it that way.

If the appeal of the Jack to you is primarily or significantly because you want to use it as a packer, I’d point you to a dedicated soft packer instead- the Archer packer (also made by New York Toy Collective) would be my shout. Packing your Jack if you own one is definitely worth trying- don’t get me wrong- but I don’t think it’s the Jack’s strongest selling point. Instead, I think the Jack’s strength is its use as a stroker, especially given the gender affirming nature of its shape. It sounds like such a small addition when I write it out, but the shape of the Jack really does make using it a very different experience to using less representational sleeves, especially in the partnered sex I’ve tried it out in. The suction of the Jack may not be the most intense of my sleeves, but the overall experience is definitely the most enjoyable and comfortable.

If you’d like your own Jack, you can buy one from SheVibe for $59

Notes:

  1. NOT baby powder
  2. Even if that doesn’t play nice with the fact I’m not into receiving penetrative sex
