Review: SpareParts Pete Commando Packing Harness

I pretty much pack daily (with the New York Toy Collective Archer, in case you were wondering), and while I sometimes just shove my packer into my boxers, most of the time I pack it using the SpareParts Pete Commando Harness.

This is going to be a pretty short review because I really don’t have much to say about this harness, and I don’t think there is much that can be said. But I felt like it’s worth having a review available.

The Pete line is a line of harnesses specifically made for soft packing, and if the Commando isn’t your style, there’s a bunch of similar harnesses to choose from. The Pete Freestyle is mostly identical to the Commando, except the packer is covered by fabric when worn, the Pete Briefs are classic brief style underwear, and the Pete Trunks look like classic boxer briefs. My preference is for the Commando (named so because it’s meant to emulate the feeling of ‘going commando’) but if you’d prefer to try the other styles, you can buy them from Good Vibrations for between $32 and $40, depending on style, or from The Pleasure Garden for £34-40, depending on style.

I prefer the Commando harness because I like having the freedom to wear my own actually underwear underwear. I’ve never really got behind packing boxers or briefs that are meant to be underwear on their own, partly because I pack very often, and cannot afford to replace my whole underwear collection with expensive harnesses, but also because I genuinely like the underwear collection I’ve managed. I like having the freedom to choose underwear that makes me feel cute or sexy or however I want to feel in the moment, and if I was limited to the underwear you can buy as packing underwear, I wouldn’t have that freedom.

The Commando harness is very minimal- the only underwear I own that I can’t wear the Commando under is a few jock straps, and those can hold my packer in place anyway. The low rise style also means that under most styles of underwear, the Commando’s waistband is hidden, and the leg straps aren’t noticeable under the fabric of normal underwear.

The Pete Commando harness is made from nylon, spandex, and jersey. It has a band to keep your packer in place, and I’ve found when I pack using it, my packer doesn’t shift at all. The Commando harness also keeps my packer in a very natural position, which means I don’t have to do the awkward dick shuffle as I get dressed in the morning. There’s a loop on the inside of the packer to hold balls even more stable if you want it, but I’ve found it unnecessary. The Pete is also compatible with STP devices (I’ve used it with the Urinall STP Packer and CalEx STP Packer).

There’s really not that much more I can say about the Commando harness. It’s a good packing harness, it holds things in the right places, it’s comfortable, it’s easy to wash. It also makes my ass look great. Would recommend.

If you’d like to buy Pete Packing Harnesses, you can buy them from The Pleasure Garden for £34-40 or from Good Vibrations for $32-$40, depending on style
