Review: B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite

I was super intrigued by the B-Vibe Rimming Plug from the moment I saw it. I’m a big fan of rimming (or analingus if you want to get technical), and the idea of a butt plug that attempted to simulate is possible one of the coolest sex toy concepts I’ve seen. Of course, that intrigue also came with a healthy dose of skepticism. I’ve tried sex toys that have taken inspiration from oral sex before, and it’s never been quite spot on (see my Satisfyer reviews). Oral sex in general is really hard to replicate, and I was excited to see how close B-Vibe had got with the Rimming Plug.

bvibe3.pngI’d heard some talk about the B-Vibe Rimming Plug being a little too big, and decided to ask The Pleasure Garden if I could review the >B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite instead. Like the B-Vibe Rimming Plug, the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite comes in this adorable teal colour that I adored so much I asked specifically for a B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite in this colour. There’s also black and purple options if those are more your thing. The B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite comes with a remote (more on this later), a handy carrying case, and an honestly adorable guide to anal play. It’s not a guide I need but I love that it was included. Both the plug itself and the plug remote are splashproof, but not submergible.

At times I honestly think I should have gone for the larger B-Vibe Rimming Plug, as there’s only a small difference between the two. The neck diameters only vary slightly between the two plugs- both are around an inch, with a difference of 0.07 inches. There is more of a difference between the widest points of the two plugs, with the Rimming Plug having a 1.5 inch and the Petite a 1.3 inch diameter at their widest points, and in length, with the Rimming Plug being 4.8 inches long, and the Petite 3.8 inches in length.

bvibe4.pngWhile those dimensions definitely mean the original B-Vibe Rimming Plug isn’t a toy for beginners, I found the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite left me wanting for a little more stretch. That said, I do appreciate the fact that the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite is a toy I can just plug-and-play, for lack of a better term. I don’t need much warmup to be able to take it, and have actually been able to just lube it up and put it in, so long as I do it slowly.

The way the rimming sensation works is by having a series of beads in the plug neck. The five columns of beads rotate or roll back and forth to simulate a tongue licking in a butthole.

The rimming settings are connected to different vibration patterns if you use only the button on the base of the plug to control them, but vibrations and rimming can be controlled independently if you use the remote. There are 7 rotation functions, which B-Vibe describes as:

  1. Rotates in left direction
  2. Rotates in right direction
  3. Rotates left and right swiftly
  4. Rotates left and right
  5. Rotates left, pauses, makes swift right rotation
  6. Rotates left for longer period, pauses, rotates right
  7. Rotates slowly, speeds up, slows down, etc

These functions come with 6 intensity levels, as do the 6 vibration patterns. I’ve made my opinions on vibration patterns pretty clear on this blog before, but I actually don’t mind them here as much. I think it’s because, when using the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite, I rely on external stimulation to actually get me to orgasm. The vibrations feel good, but they’re not what’s getting me off, and I think that’s why I have more patience for the tease of vibration patterns here than I normally do.

One question I get asked a lot when people find out what my blog is, is what sex toy is the ‘best’. The ‘best’ vibrator, the ‘best’ dildo, the ‘best’ butt plug, etc. And time and time again, I explain that there is no ‘best’ because everyone’s body is different and responds to stimulation in different ways. And I think the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite is really exemplary- while my partner and I both really liked this toy, we liked very different things about it.

I primarily enjoyed the rimming sensation, and didn’t get much out of the vibrations. That’s something that really surprised me. I am a newbie to vibrating anal toys, having only tried one vibrating plug before the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite, which was the Mantric Rechargeable Vibrating Butt Plug. When holding the two plugs in hand, there’s very little difference in terms of the intensity of vibrations, or the buzzy-ness/rumbly-ness of the vibrations in each. I don’t know why I get more out of the Mantric Plug than the Rimming Plug Petite, but I definitely do. The rimming sensation is what I get most out of the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite.

Does it feel like getting analingus from another person? No, but I wasn’t expecting it to. Just as air pulsation toys don’t feel like getting my dick sucked, so the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite doesn’t feel like analingus from an actual human being. But it does feel close to the sensations that make me enjoy analingus. My favourite rimming settings are 3, 4, and 6, as I feel like having a change in directions definitely helps to make the rimming sensation closer to actual rimming. Obviously there’s still not the changes in pressure and broader strokes I get from actually being rimmed, but the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite can keep the sensations I do get going for longer, on account of the whole ‘not being a living being who has to breath’ thing.

My partner, unlike me, really loves the vibrations. The vibrations in combination with the rimming sensation can get him really overwhelmed, in a way that’s very fun to watch. The B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite having a remote has allowed us to utilised it for partnered play a whole lot, and I don’t think we’d have so much fun out of the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite if it wasn’t for the remote. The remote’s controls do take a while to figure out, which is a little unfortunate. But once I figured it out, we utilised the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite in a lot of kink scenes. While my partner can’t orgasm through anal play alone, he can be edged, so me having control over the plug via remote? Very mean and very fun.

What flipped the switches for me in understanding how the remote worked was realising that the intensity of the vibrators and the rimming sensation are linked, so long as they’re both on. While you could turn the vibration off and only impact the rimming sensation with the + and – buttons, the second vibrations are turned on, they’ll have the same intensity as the rimming.

The remote apparently has a range of about 30 feet, but we’ve never approached that kind of distance. Both my partner and I live in shared flats in London, so we very much do not have a 30 foot distance to access and test this range in. And the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite is very much not suited to public play. That’s absolutely fine with me, as bringing kinds of play that involve genital or anal stimulation/penetration into any kind of public space is a big hard limit for me. But if that’s a selling point for you, the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite is not for you. It’s very loud. It will be heard through a few layers of clothing.

While that loudness isn’t really a downside for me, as my partner and I don’t do public play, I definitely see it as something that might be a point against the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite for some consumers. Other than that, the main other issue I have with the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite is that it’s not submergible. While it being splashproof does mean I can clean it properly after use (super important for anal toys), I do wish it was submergible safe, as that would make cleaning the B-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite a whole lot easier. Personally, I’d like to see the documentation on the remote functions be a little more clear about how the controls work, and I wouldn’t say no to stronger vibrators.
