Satisfyer Mini Reviews: Sexy Secret Vibrator, ‘Booty Call’ Butt Plug Set, & Double Joy Vibrator

Satisfyer Sexy Secret

So the basic premise of the Satisfyer Sexy Secret is that it’s a vibrator that is held on your underwear (Satisfyer calls it a ‘panty’ vibrator, but I hate the word ‘panty’ and so refuse to use it) with a magnetic disc, so can provide hands free stimulation. It’s not a totally new and original type of toy—the We-Vibe Moxie has a similar concept, if af different design and shape—but it’s not one I had any experience with. Between that and the fun I had with the Satisfyer App in my Curvy 1+ review, I was excited to try it out!

A picture of the Satisfyer Sexy Secret, showing the magnet attatchment that connects it to underwearI will say that the Sexy Secret is a lot weaker and more buzzy than the Moxie. While I don’t own a Moxie, it was one of the toys on display at the shop I worked at until last spring, and even just from the memory of it, I can tell that the Sexy Secret’s motor is a lot weaker. But it is also a lot cheaper, at £35 (or $42) to the Moxie’s £109 (or $155).

I’m very specific about what kind of vibration I need to be able to orgasm—rumbly and pinpoint vibration—so I knew before opening up the Sexy Secret that I was mostly interested in it for partnered play that wasn’t orgasm-centric. While the Sexy Secret can be used as a lay-on vibrator, I knew this wasn’t going to do much for me, so aside from a quick ‘yep, this is possible’ check, I haven’t used it that way at all.

For partnered play though? I’ve found it so fun! I waxed poetic about how much the Satisfyer App surprised me over in my review of the Satisfyer Curvy 1+, so I won’t repeat myself here too much, aside from noting that it was actually more fun to use with the Sexy Secret than the Curvy 1+. I think it’s because it’s a toy specifically geared towards playing and teasing, there’s more ways to implement the functions within sex or a scene. One of the applications that came to mind for me are using the ambient sound feature during an impact play and orgasm denial scene, for example. I probably won’t utilise the Sexy Secret when I’m bottoming in scenes, because my preferences as an s-type aren’t quite the right fit, but I can absolutely see myself using it when leading a scene.

The only difference we noticed between the main app and the Apple Watch variant is that the Apple Watch doesn’t allow for control over patterns to the same extent, with just general pattern settings rather than the ‘set your own’ part of the phone app.

One way I’ve found the Satisfyer Sexy Secret really works for me outside of partnered play is wearing while I write erotica. I’ve been doing a lot more of that recently, and found the low settings work really well for keeping me aroused enough to be into writing the content I am, without either orgasming and losing interest or being too distracted to have a ‘hmm, is that really the word I mean?’ debate with myself. I have also used the Ruby Glow—which was specifically designed for this—for the same reasons, but honestly I actually prefer the Sexy Secret.

Satisfyer ‘Booty Call’ 3-Piece Butt Plug Set

The Booty Call set consists of a trio of butt plugs in different shapes, all small enough to suit people with little anal experience. Their shapes actually remind me of anal beads more than plugs (and I ended up using them in a manner more like anal beads—more on that later), with one having a twisted tapering corkscrew-like shape (lilac), another a set of three graduating balls (pale pink), and the third a pair of graduating spheroid shapes (hot pink). They’re pretty small—part of the reason I wanted to review them is I get asked a lot about toy recommendations for those new to anal—and at a very approachable price point too, at £15 (or $14.95) for the set.

A picture of three plugs, each with a different textureSo about that anal bead-esque shape: while the pink plugs do have a (very short) neck between their last ball and the plug’s ring-shaped base, I didn’t find this helped with keeping the plug inside the anus in the way the longer neck on, say, the b-Vibe Snug Plug does. And the corkscrew plug doesn’t have a neck at all. While it’s possible to hold the pink plugs in, it’s less easy than on my preferred butt plugs, even if the ring bases fit very neatly and comfortably between my buttcheeks. I found that a kind of use that made more sense and felt more intuitive was using them like anal beads, focusing on movement in and out as the primary kind of sensation or stimulation rather than the stretch I tend to look for with plugs.

With that kind of use case in mind, I think the Booty Call plugs are a really nice little set! Not all the designs will be a winner for everyone—I actually really hated the feeling of moving the corkscrew shaped plug in-and-out of my butt—but each of the plugs offers a different enough sensation and the set is available at a low enough price point that I’m honestly ok with that. I wouldn’t recommend the Booty Plug set if you’re looking for toys to stretch out for anal sex—they’re all a little bit too small—or looking for a plug for longer-term wear, but if you’re just looking to try out different sensations to see if you like them? I don’t think you can go wrong with the Booty Call set!

The Satisfyer Double Joy, a purple vibratorSatisfyer Double Joy

Before I get into reviewing the Satisyfer Double Joy, I do want to give the caveat I am absolutely not the target demographic for it. The Double Joy is a vibrator intended to be worn during penetrative penis-in-vagina sex, which makes up very little of the kinds of sex I have. I’m a trans male top, and even when I do have sex that isn’t strap-on sex, anal, or kink play, it tends to be grinding on my partners. Even when my vulva is involved in sex, my vagina normally isn’t.

But even with those caveats? I hate the Double Joy. I really hate it. I’ve been putting off writing any kind of review of it for nearly a year, and I’m only writing one now because with batch reviews I can get away with a very short review. The vibrations are buzzy—and somehow stronger in the internal arm than the part that’s actually meant to be for clitoral stimulation?? A choice was made there—, the body is so flexible I cannot get the clitoral arm to actually press down on my body with enough pressure to get off, and any actual penetration just jostles the toy out of place.

I am not the person to give recommendations for alternative hands-free “couple vibrators”, so I’m gonna trust the advice of Kate Sloan (of GirlyJuice.net) and say that the We-Vibe Sync is probably better choice if you really want to get a toy in this style. Or you know, just use a Doxy Wand during penetrative sex, which is what I always did even when PIV was a much larger part of my sex life and gives you a lot more choice in how you use it.
