I reached out to Tentickle Toys to see if they’d be interested in working together on a review in part because they have the coolest origin story I’ve ever seen from a toy company. Based in the UK, their founder and owner actually has a background in the special effects industry, making prosthetics for film and theatre. When COVID-19 hit the film industries, Fran directed those skills and new found time to making sex toys. You can definitely see that horror film and special effects influence in Tentickle Toy’s products, from Fronky’s skin grafting details and electrode sockets to Menus’ teeth. And you can see it in the toy that I’m reviewing—the werewolf paw Wölfling!
As an aside, because I don’t really know where else to put this, I really love that Tentickle Toys has a page on their environmental commitments! Recently, I’ve become more aware of the waste that my blogging work produces, and having fully recyclable packaging, adorable little free squishies to use up waste silicone, and information about things like mixing cups and gloves behind the scenes are things I really value and appreciate! I’d love to see more companies publicise this information.
The Wölfling
The Wölfling is a new toy for Tentickle Toys, and at the time of writing isn’t actually available as a custom yet. Fran will be slowly adding them to the ‘Lab Experiments’ section of Tentickle’s store before this though, and if you have your heart set on a particular colour combination, other listings—like that for the Tenton—have examples of what different colour options look like. Wölfling will have three firmness options and two size options—my Wölfling was poured in ‘soft’ (which is OO30 silicone) and the larger of the two sizes. The smaller Wölfing has a total length of 12 cm, and a usable length of 9 cm on the finger and 4 cm on the thumb. The circumference of the top of the finger is 10.5 cm and the top of the thumb 10 cm, with the joint at the middle of the finger being 12.2 cm. On the larger Wölfling, I measured the total length at 17cm, insertable length of the finger at 12 cm and the thumb at 6 cm, the circumference of the top of both joints being 12 cm, and the circumference of the middle of the finger joint at 14 cm.
The first thing I want to say about the Wölfing is that it’s absolutely gorgeous. There’s so much detail, from the slight texture on the claw nails, the skin detailing on the pads of finger and thumb, or the swirling form of fur on the back of the paw. There is so much work put into this design, and I’m so glad I went for the colour options I did—dark green on the back of the palm and light green on the pads—because it feels like it really highlights these details. Also as somebody who is a known werewolf lover and whose favourite colour (and basically the one colour I reliably wear other than black) is green, it feels exceptionally on brand.
Using the Wölfling
The Wölfing has a really unique shape, unlike any toy I’ve reviewed before, and I wanted to try using it in as many ways as possible. Both the finger and thumb can be used for penetration, so I really wanted to try double penetration, both with the digits in different holes and with them in the same one. The pad of the thumb also felt like it had the perfect level of texture and firmness and squish for grinding onto, so I really wanted to try grinding on it while also being penetrated—both using my dick when using the Wölfing vaginally and using my perinium when using it anally. Finally, the curved shape of the Wölfling really reminded me of a g-spot or prostate toy when I first saw it, so while that’s not really a kind of stimulation I enjoy, I wanted to try it out to see how possible it is. And the Wölfing is pretty great at most of those!
The one use case I found didn’t really work for me was double penetration with the Wölfing’s digits in different holes. This is definitely at least partly due to individual anatomy, so your millage may vary, but I found the distance between the finger and thumb on the Wölfing wasn’t quite enough to be able to penetrate my ass with the finger and my vagina with the thumb at the same time.
However, using the two digits in the same hole was even better than I imagined. The soft silicone is squishy enough that I could push the two digits together to form the sort of ‘duck bill’ shape that people always talk about when discussing fisting, just with two digits rather than five. I only tried this vaginally, as I didn’t feel this left me with enough of a flared base to be safe anally, but even though I only bottom for fisting anally I didn’t have any issues fitting both digits into my vag. I’m not generally keen on vaginal penetration in general these days—especially partnered—but on the rare occasion I do want it, what I’m after is a little stretch and something to clench down onto when I use an external vibrator, and the Wölfing is perfect for that. The claws are a rounded shape and soft enough that they move and bend with pressure, and they don’t catch or feel uncomfortable at all.
Clenching down onto the Wölfing works really well with just one digit too—when using the finger for vaginal penetration, the thumb does get in the way of using an external vibrator if the finger curves towards the belly (which is the right direction for g-spot stimulation, if that’s something that works for you). I personally don’t mind this, as g-spot stimulation doesn’t do it for me so I’m happy to simply turn the toy around. I also don’t mind it because when the thumb is in the way of clitoral vibes, it becomes fantastic to grind onto. The soft was definitely the right choice for the large Wölfing—at least for me—because it means the thumb pad is the perfect level of pliably squishy and firm enough to grind onto. If I had the smaller Wölfing, I think a firmer silicone might work better, but here it’s perfect.
Overall
You might have noticed I didn’t voice any complaints or issues with the Wölfing and that’s because I didn’t have any. If I was really reaching, I’d say I’d prefer a slightly flared base below the digits so that I could feel safe using both thumb and finger for double anal penetration, but that is really reaching and only applies to one of the many ways I used the Wölfing. It’s an exceptionally versatile toy—more so than any other dildo I own to be honest—and beautifully made. It’s only very occasionally I review toys that make me go ‘oh shit, I need to buy something from this company when I have the money’, but the Wölfing is so good I just can’t resist putting more of Tentickle Toys’ products on my ‘to buy’ list. Could not recommend more.
