Review: S-Hande Kitten

Rabbit vibrators are one of the genres of vibrators I’ve never really had much to do with. I have a non-standard vulva, with a very large clitoris, meaning my anatomy often doesn’t line up with vibrators that are very anatomy specific. The rabbit vibrator is in many ways perhaps the most anatomy-specific kind of vibrator, and I’ve mostly stayed away from them as a result.

However, a few months ago I did some testing for a company I work with on occasion, to help them decide if they should stock a vibrator or not. While I ended up recommending no for a couple of reasons, I still liked that toy more than I expected to. And following that experience? I decided it was time to give rabbit vibrators another chance.

The S-Hande Kitten

The S-Hande Kitten (sold as the ‘Bestvibe Cute Bunny’ on their UK store) is a pretty standard looking rabbit vibrator. Waterproof, rechargeable, made of soft pastel pink silicone (which is very smooth and nice to touch), its most distinctive visual feature is that it doesn’t go with a traditional ‘bunny ear’ shape for the external arm. Instead it has an abstracted cat face, with two pointy ears and a little pointy nose.

This is very much a feature that will divide people. My partner has remarked that she really does not like the cat face on the external arm. I’m neutral on it, and don’t see it as particularly weirder than the standard rabbit ears shape, but I am also numbed to ‘weird’ sex toys by having worked in the industry for six years, so your milage may vary.

The S-Hand Kitten has 9 modes, 3 of which are solid speeds and 6 of which are patterns. An LED at the base of the vibrator does light up when the toy is on, fading in and out (although not to the same tempo as the vibration patterns) and changing colour when the mode is changed. Reasonably petite, the Kitten has an insertable length of just over 5 inches and a maximum diameter of just an inch and a half.

Positioning & Anatomy

Despite my issues with my non-standard anatomy not fitting vibrators in the past, this was a complete non issue with the S-Hande Kitten. While the two short cat ears of the clitoral arm don’t serve to grasp around a clit in the way the traditional rabbit ears do, they also don’t get in the way of my larger-than-average clitoris.

My interest in rabbit vibrators is mostly in combining a sense of fullness with the targeted clitoral stimulation that I actually get off on. While I can do this by combining a dildo and vibrator, I’m also exceptionally lazy, and having only one toy to hold in place sounded appealing. On this front, the S-Hande Kitten delivered. I didn’t get much g-spot stimulation, but I also was not looking for it (and also have never been able to find a g-spot inside my vagina the way I can and have felt them by touch in the vaginas of my partners over the years). If this is more of a draw for you, the Kitten’s body is flexible enough it can be manoeuvred to be placed right against the g-spot.

The main issue with the S-Hande Kitten for me is regarding its motors.

The Motors & Vibration

The S-Hande Kitten has two motors — one in the internal arm and one in the external.

I have absolutely no complaints about the motor in the internal arm. It actually surprised me with how good, strong, and rumbly they are. On the highest steady setting, they rival the lowest speed of my Doxy Number 3, so I’m not just calling them ‘rumbly for a white label toy/for what I expected/by Amazon review standards’ here — they’re actually genuinely fantastic.

They are, however, extremely let down by the vibrations in the external arm.

To be clear, if you get more out of g-spot stimulation and mostly want clitoral stimulation as an addition to this, the S-Hande Kitten is probably right up your street. However, I’m primarily a clitoral orgasm focused guy, and the external arm’s vibrations are extremely weak and buzzy. Especially when they’re directly up against the fantastic internal arm vibrations, they can feel like absolutely nothing at times. For a while, I actually wondered if all the vibrations came from the one motor in the internal arm, with the vibrations just carrying through the silicone to the external arm, because they feel that weak in comparison.

It sucks, because if the motor in the external arm were anything like the one in the internal arm, I’d absolutely be recommending the Kitten. That internal motor is so good I’ve taken to just using that on my clit to get off, because it’s so rumbly and reliable. But the weak external motor means I just can’t orgasm using the S-Hande Kitten in the way it’s intended to be used.

Overall

If you know internal vibrations are a reliable way for you to get off, I think the S-Hande Kitten is far better suited to you than me. I do again want to really emphasise how good that internal vibrator motor is — it feels like it should cost way more than the Kitten’s £44.99/$36.53 price tag.

However, if you need equal or majority clitoral stimulation to orgasm, you’re likely to be as disappointed with the Kitten as I am. Currently, I don’t have any specific recommendations to give you (beyond ‘use a dildo and an external vibrator together’), but I will say that the S-Hande Kitten has motivated me to perhaps give rabbit vibrators a bit more of a chance than I have previously.
