Review: 2023 Lovehoney X Womanizer Sex Toy Advent Calendar

Since I started this blog, I’ve always wanted to review a sex toy Advent Calendar. I’m so thrilled to finally have the opportunity to not just review one, but review two! Lovehoney have sent me both their Lovehoney X Womanizer 24 Day Sex Toy Advent Calendar and their Lovehoney Rose 12 Sex Toy Advent Calendar back at the start of October, and I’ve been buzzing with excitement about them since.

In the name of giving my readers the right information to decide if a product is for them, I’ll be posting both reviews in full before December begins. Spoilers lie ahead!

Non-Spoiler Thoughts

Before I get into my specific and detailed thoughts on each item, I want to give some of my feedback on the calendar as a whole collection.

My first critique of the entire Advent Calendar is that it is specifically aimed at cisgender M/F couples, with toys that are specific for vulvas or penises included. This is fine on its own, but combined with the fact that Lovehoney doesn’t offer 24 day alternatives for couples where both parties have a vulva (the Lovehoney Rose 12 Sex Toy Advent Calendar doesn’t have penis specific toys, but that is only 12 days), or any calendars for couples where both people have a penis is extremely disappointing. This is especially the case given Lovehoney has previously produced a 12 day calendar that had penis and anal toys only, so it’s not something they couldn’t adapt for 2023.

My second overall take is that the Lovehoney X Womanizer 24 Day Sex Toy Advent Calendar is definitely built with couples who have little (if any) of a sex toy collection in mind. My partners and I are… not that. I would still say I got my money’s worth even as a seasoned reviewer, as I wanted the Womanizer Classic 2 and a few of the other pieces from this calendar, but I am very much not the target demographic here, particularly when it comes to the kink items.

With that caveat in mind, I’m aware/worried I may come across a little harsh. Overall, I had a really fun time opening it with my partner, and there’s enough here that I’ll actually use that I do feel I ‘got my money’s worth’, so to speak. But most coverage of the 2023 Lovehoney Advent Calendars I’ve seen is mostly limited to ‘these are the items inside’, and ‘it’s great value given the discount!’ at best. The latter in particular frustrates me — something can be a great discount compared to RRP, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s actually a good product! To balance out puff pieces, I do really want to be critical.

Item By Item

Day 1: USB Bullet Vibrator

The first item in the Lovehoney X Womanizer 24 Day Sex Toy Advent Calendar is a USB rechargeable bullet vibrator. It’s a solid choice — a bullet is often people’s first sex toy (it was mine!), and it’s small size makes it approachable for people who are totally new the idea of owning any. The calendar is also designed so that a good number of products later on in the calendar use the bullet vibrator for stimulation, which I really like conceptually.

While there are a few items in the 24 Day Sex Toy Advent Calendar that — to me at least — feel a bit cheap, the bullet vibrator is not one of them. Lovehoney absolutely could have gotten away with a very basic battery operated bullet, and I appreciate they put a slightly higher quality bullet in here, especially as it’s a fundamental part of a whole bunch of other toys. This does make it submergible, so you can take it into a tub or shower, and also makes cleaning a lot easier.

I am a bit of a power king, so it’s not really surprising that the vibrations here did not do much for me personally. I did manage to get off with it (and much easier than I expected) but my orgasms with it are pretty shallow and not very satisfying. If, like me, you’re a Doxy fanclub member, I don’t think you’ll get much from this bullet. That said, I’m saying that from the position of sitting on several thousand pounds worth of sex toys, including my very rumbly and very beloved Doxy Number 3, so my junk is a bit of a spoiled prince of the clitoris world. For a bullet vibrator at its normal price point (I’m 99% sure it’s the Glow Up vibrator in a different colour), it’s pretty decent — much buzzier than I’m used to, but more rumbly than I was fearing. It’s that point of ‘powerful but buzzy’ that I don’t think people who’ve gotten used to rumbly vibes will get much out of, but isn’t awful.

I do wish they didn’t include such a high pattern to speed ratio (7:3), but that’s personal preference. In terms of actual critique, I do want to highlight that the bullet does also have a tendency to overheat after longer sessions, and it is quite loud, so be aware of that if you live with flatmates.

Day 2: Ribbed Stroker

I’m excited to see a penis toy this early! It is made of TPE, which is a material I do not recommend for insertable toys, but have some wiggle room for when it comes to external penis toys (although with the caveat that these toys have a limited life span). Very soft and stretchy, it can fit a large variety of dick sizes. I do like that it’s non representational, and — in principle — like that it has a small pocket on the side allowing you to insert the bullet vibrator from yesterday.

Now, in terms of the actual placement of the pocket… I have mixed feelings. The pocket sits at the end of the sleeve, which means the vibrations are strongest at the tip of the user’s penis. This does make sense given most penises are more sensitive at the head/tip. However, an unfortunate side effect we discovered is that the vibrator sits right where it makes most sense to grab or hold the sleeve in your hand while using it. The vibrations transmit to the user’s hand a lot, which can get uncomfortable over time.

Obviously, the bullet here is optional, so if the vibrations in your hand are particularly irritating, you can use the sleeve sans vibration. The texture is relatively gentle, so if you’re used to sleeves you may find it a bit underwhelming. But if it’s your first time using a sleeve, it’s a pretty good jumping off point to figure out if you like this kind of sensation, and what your preferences are around vibration.

Day 3: Wrist Restraints

Fastened with velcro, these pretty basic restraints are quick and easy to get in and out of, but won’t put up much resistance to real tugging. I do appreciate that they’re at least two layers — the webbing that the hardware attaches to would be incredibly uncomfortable and dig into the skin. The soft plush fabric on the inner layer doesn’t provide any real padding, but it does at least provide some softness and prevent what my partner has referred to as ‘seatbelt vibes’.

The hardware here is exceptionally petite, and I don’t have faith it would put up with much force. That said, I do want to give credit that the hardware is actually properly welded, rather than being bend (which leaves a gap in the hardware and a point of weakness).

Something I did notice that I want to flag is that both these wrist retraints and the ankle restraints further along in the calendar have a label that says ‘wrist/ankle restraints’. On examination, I noticed that they are actually exactly the same length. This means when putting the wrist restraints on, it’s easy to end up with far too much velcro at the end. This probably is only going to be worse for people with petite wrists, and I wish Lovehoney had properly made specific wrist and ankle restraints.

Day 4: Orgasm Balm

While I don’t believe it’s something I’ve ever reviewed, I do have a soft spot for orgasm balms. This menthol based balm delivers a cooling effect to external genitals and erogenous zones (and I emphasise here that I mean external only — do not put this inside your vagina). It’s pretty standard, and I don’t feel a significant difference between this and other cooling balms I’ve tried. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad! The tin is very compact and travel friendly and a little balm goes a long way — I’ve had a tin about this size that’s lasted a good year.

I personally don’t find it makes orgasms easier to achieve, and despite the marketing around balms it’s absolutely not a magic cure-all for difficulty reaching orgasm. But I do enjoy the added tingling sensation, plus enjoy using it when I’m warming up to partnered or solo sex, or while reading erotica. If you want to experiment with power dynamics and the sensation side of BDSM, then it’s also great for playing tease/denial games.

On the negative side, that mint-y menthol smell does hang around for a good while. My partner described hypothetical instructions for the balm as ‘apply Aquafresh directly to the clit’, if that gives you an idea of the smell. I also find this balm’s effects dissipate a little quicker than other balms I’ve tried. But overall, I’m pleased with this little inclusion!

Day 5: G-Spot Dildo

I like the inclusion of this little dildo! It’s in a colour that I like to call ‘sex toy purple’, although I will give it the credit that it matches the colour scheme of the box (and the 12 Day Rose Calendar has one in red to match its aesthetic). I do think calling it a g-spot dildo specifically is a bit of a choice, especially given how short the length and how gentle the curve are — I don’t think this would work for g-spot stimulation for a lot of people.

While I do think it’s neat that it has a hollow cavity for the bullet vibrator from day 1, this hollow space has a tendency to collapse under pressure (especially if you’ve been working on your pelvic floor). I also am a bit sceptical of the flared base — it is a decent enough flare, but the silicone is thin enough I’m not 100% sure I’d call it truly anal safe.

That said, I did manage to comfortably put the g-spot dildo in a harness and top a Fleshlight with it without any movement. I probably would be confident using it in a harness to top somebody anally (particularly if the o-ring in a harness gave extra hold).

The silicone here (where it isn’t hollow) is relatively firm, so if your anatomy does line up with the curve and size, I do have some confidence that it’ll actually be reasonably effective at the steady pressure needed.

Day 6: Thick Cock Ring

This is a good basic — a stretchy silicone cock ring. I was actually initially a little sceptical about if this was pure silicone or a silicone blend because of how stretchy the material is, but it passed the flame test with flying colours. If I had to be nitpicky, the thickness and stretchiness of this ring means it’s not really strap-on suitable the way some other silicone cock rings are, but as the box doesn’t contain any other strap-on sex pieces and the these features make it both more comfortable for and able to fit on a larger majority of people with penises, I’m not mad.

Day 7: Blindfold

An effective face mask. I do like the purple star design, and while I’m not a big fan of the texture of the silky outside (I’m autistic and can be sensitive to texture), the inside is a more soft velvet-y material, which I actually quite like. The double elastic does feel a bit more secure than a single elastic would, and aside from some light coming through around the nose, it does a pretty good job at blocking out everything. I have a favourite leather blindfold, but for my more particular vegan partners I can see myself using this one.

Day 8: Crystal Butt Plug

Does anyone remember the ‘princess plug’ craze of NSFW Tumblr back in the 2010s? This is a butt plug right out of that era, with a silver aluminium body and a purple faux gem in the round base. The metal is aluminum, and while it’s lighter than a steel plug would be, it still offers the same temperature play possibilities.

If I were being nitpicky, I’d say that the jump up from the thin neck to the bottom of the bulb can be uncomfortable on removal, but otherwise this design is a classic for a reason. The base here feels like it’s large enough to avoid the safety pitfall some plugs of this type do, where it’s not significantly wider than the widest point of the plug bulb. Round bases do tend to be a bit more uncomfortable to wear long term than t-bar bases, so I would say this isn’t a butt plug to wear outside the bedroom. But overall I think it’s a pretty good inclusion in this calendar!

Day 9: Sandalwood Scented Candle

I’m going to be honest, I have no idea why this candle is included in the calendar. I love a scented candle as much as the next queer (and have in fact spent an extortionate amount of money on artisanal candles), but its inclusion here feels like filler.

The sandalwood scent — while nice — doesn’t give festive to me. I’d understand the inclusion if it were a massage candle, but it doesn’t have anything that indicates it’s intended as one (and the lack of a melting point in the information makes me loathe to suggest it for even pain-focused wax play). I suppose if I squint, candlelight is romantic? But it doesn’t feel worth inclusion in the calendar for me, which is a shame because if it were simply replaced with a massage-friendly candle I’d be all in for it.

Day 10: Mini Massage Wand Vibrator

To be clear, this is a very mini wand vibrator — it’s about 5 inches total. It is a lot lighter than standard sized wands, and like them can be used on a bunch of body parts that aren’t just the clitoris (nipples, penis, etc). Admittedly, so can a bullet vibrator, but I can see somebody new to toys finding experimenting with a wand more approachable than with a bullet.

The bendy neck is a bit of a point of contention among wand users — people either love it or hate it. I’m in the hater camp — I find bending wand necks mean I can’t apply the amount of pressure I actually want. And the actual vibrations? Not great. They’re very buzzy. It’s not awful, but if I were reviewing this toy as a standalone my verdict would 100% be ‘don’t bother’.

Day 11: Nipple Clamps

I am admittedly not the normal audience for nipple clamps, on account of having very few working nerves in my nipples. But I do find these little clamps delightful. They’re ’tweezer style’ clamps, meaning the pinch they deliver is relatively soft and beginner friendly. It can be a little hard to regulate the pressure with them, so there can be a learning curve, but they’re easy to put on and take off quickly if needed. The ends have soft tips to dull the pinch a little, and the ones in this calendar are a thematic purple.

Tweezer style clamps do tend to suit smaller nipples more than larger nipples. They can be a little light on sensation for more experienced players — my main nipple play partner is a clover clamps person, so these probably wouldn’t get much use if it weren’t for the bells.

I know the bells are silly, but I love them. The second we got these clamps out, my nesting partner and I both immediately starting singing ‘jingle tits, jingle tits, jingle all the way’. I can see some humiliation play potential here, or honestly just puerile leaning into the silliness.

Day 12: Vanilla Massage Oil

I was dreading this one a bit, as vanilla massage products can be very hit-or-miss, and I’ve had a couple of misses from Lovehoney before. But I was pleasantly surprised! It doesn’t have the sickly artificial smell I was fearing, and instead is a bit more subtle.

My partner actually described the scent as more marzipan than anything else, although to be it feels vanilla cookie scented, rather than specifically vanilla. I was originally going to question why vanilla was the choice here and not something more Christmas-y, but I actually think it fits.

The oil spreads pretty well, and this bottle definitely has enough for a couple of massages (maybe more if you’re being a bit more sparing).

Day 13: G/P-Spot Massager

I like this massager! Unlike some of the other toys in this calendar, I do think it’s completely safely usable without the addition of the bullet vibrator, although it can obviously be added. Vibrations near exclusively transmit to the external arm of the massage (either for the clitoris or perineum, depending on how you’re using it), so if you do need or want internal vibration it might be a bit disappointing. However, the silicone on the internal arm is extremely firm — firm enough that I’m confident in saying it’ll work effectively for targeted stimulation… if the anatomical details line up for the user.

This massager has what I call ‘the rabbit vibrator problem’, in which a toy is made for a very specific anatomy. In toys that only target one area (like the clitoris or the g-spot alone), this isn’t as much of a problem, as placement can be adjusted. But where there’s multiple areas a toy is targeting, the likelihood some dimensions don’t fit a user increases. The external part of this massager isn’t very flexible in addition, so there is a potential it may not fit a user’s anatomy (whether that’s the distance of their clitoris from vaginal opening, g-spot from vaginal opening, anus from scrotum, prostate from sphincter, etc).

This isn’t to say it’s a bad toy — if it lines up with your body, I think it’s likely to be a winner. But I do want to caution there’s a potential it won’t, and that if this is the case the problem is the toy not fitting your body, not your body not fitting the toy.

Also, I do wish Lovehoney had included information about the importance of sanitising toys when switching between anal and vaginal use.

Day 14: Textured Stroker

Like the other stroker in this calendar, this is made of TPE, so has a limited lifespan and can’t be sanitised. Again, I think the texturing here is relatively mild, and people used to penis toys may find it underwhelming.

However, this flat shape is something I don’t see that often, and I actually really like. The wrap-around design means it’s suitable for penises of pretty much any size. You also don’t actually have to cover the entire penis in the way a closed-end design does, so this stroker can be used as an addition to things like oral sex a lot more easily.

Day 15: Ankle Restraints

These are exactly identical to the wrist restraints from day 3. Again, I appreciate the slight softness and the decent (if petite) hardware. The ’wrist and ankle restraints are the same length’ problem doesn’t result in access at the ankles at least. They won’t survive resistance play, but if you want soft bedroom bondage that’s more for show than actual restriction, they’re a decent place to start. Just be aware there’s no padding for longer sessions, and the person wearing them can get themselves out if needed.

Day 16: Dice

So there are two dice here, one containing an amount of time on a clock face (that I think is meant to refer to minutes, but you can be the judge of that) and the other showing illustrations of a cisgender m/f couple having sex in a particular position. While I’m not opposed to the inclusion of sex dice in a calendar (I think they’re a fun, silly novelty personally), I do really dislike the way these were made.

While I am aware that the calendar in general was designed for cisgender m/f couples and does have both vulva and penis specific items, for the most part I can use everything as a trans man who dates trans women. The dice annoy me because they make that assumption about who is consuming the product really clear and stark, in a way that is alienating. And it bothers me because there are so many other ways to make a pair of dice that don’t do this! Previous calendars have thrown in the classic ‘one die for body part, one die for verb’ combination, and even Lovehoney’s other advent calendar for this year combines the timer dice with images of specific toys that are in the calendar (which fyi, is my favourite way I’ve seen sex dice done ever — I genuinely really love it). These dice did not need to be so exclusive, which is why it frustrates me so much that they are.

Day 17: Body Massager

This is an item where my partner and I departed opinions. She’s not a big fan of body massagers like this — she finds them weird and unwieldy. Personally, I really like them! We already own a red plastic 4 point massager from Lovehoney, but the five points on this one (plus the glittery Christmas-y star shape) add something new.

I will concede my partner’s point that a plastic massager can result in less body-to-body contact, which for her is the main appeal of a massage. However, I have absolutely no training or background in massage (something which I assume is the case for a lot of you reading this too), so having a tool for a bit of guidance is a real boon. I also enjoy using it for when my hands and wrists get a bit tired. Another unexpected benefit of them is my autism means I can be quite sensitive to texture, and sometimes the idea of having massage oil directly on my hands is just… blegh. Having a tool to put some distance between my body and the Very Bad No Good Texture is helpful as an accessibility tool.

I also quite like using it for solo massage! The distance between my hands and the massage makes it easier for me to relax into sensations, and the hard plastic makes it easier to get to the deeper sore points. This one’s a winner for me!

Day 18: Anal Beads

These anal beads — as with a lot of items — work with the bullet vibrator from Day 1. I wouldn’t use them without a bullet personally, as the base is a little too pliable for my liking and I’m not sure I’d call it 100% butt safe without one.

With the bullet though? I think they’re pretty good! They’re a little larger than I’d normally recommend for beginners, although a feature I really like here is that the stem between beads is graduated with the size of the beads themselves. This means removing them is less uncomfortable, as there’s not as much of a big jump up between the stem and beads (particularly with the largest bead).

The vibration is definitely most intense in the largest and nearest to the base bead, but it’s still reasonably strong in the deepest bead. If I were being nitpicky, I’d say that I would prefer the beads were a slightly squashed oblong shape (like the Boundless Teardrop Plug) rather than completely round, as this would make them a little easier to insert and more comfortable. But that is being nitpicky.

Day 19: Mini Flogger

Again, this is very much a situation where my existing collection has ruined my reception of an item in this calendar, but I really do not like this flogger. I will concede that the sparkly snowflake pattern on the handle is actually quite cute, but overall I’m very unimpressed with it.

It’s made of PU fake leather, with a wooden dowel at the centre of the handle, and is exceptionally light. So light — in fact — that when I held it to take a look at the balance, I actually could not feel where the balance point is because it’s so light. The lightness makes it deeply unsatisfying to throw as a top, and on the bottom end it feels like a tickle rather than actually being flogged. If I really throw it with some force I get get some surface level sting, but that dissipates very quickly. It’s not a particularly fun kind of pain either — a scratching sensation rather than anything actually nice and thuddy. In the words of my partner, ‘this felt less like being flogged and more like being bitten by an unusually persistent mosquito’.

I get the point of including a ‘first BDSM toy’ in a calendar like this, and I do think it’s a good shout. But I think a paddle would have been a much better choice here — the actual movement of topping with a paddle is a lot more intuitive for people who’ve never impact topped before than a flogger is. A cheap paddle is likely to be far more fit for purpose than a cheap flogger and a cheap paddle is something that’s more likely to grow with somebody if they explore BDSM further — my partner and I still use a cheap paddle she got from Lovehoney years ago, in a way we don’t use our first cheap floggers.

I guess the appeal I can see for this flogger is if you’re intrigued by the aesthetics of BDSM, but absolutely terrified of even mild pain? But even then, I’d recommend looking at other options for a first flogger — the size here means it’s hard to get down movements beyond the very basics, and it just doesn’t feel good as a top in the way that even my £30 leather floggers do. Get a fur flogger if you really don’t want the pain aspect.

Day 20: Finger Vibrator Sleeve

Anyone else thinking of the the Finglonger from Futurama looking at this?

Joking aside, I do actually think this is a good idea to include in a calendar aimed at people new to sex toys. Introducing toys into coupled sex can feel daunting, whether it’s because of anxieties around being ‘replaced’ by toys, or a fear that it will reduce intimacy between partners. A finger vibrator can work really well to bridge that gap, introducing sex toys in a way that still feels intimate between partners.

This finger sleeve is also pretty versatile — I’ve managed to get it on every single on of my digits, with some stretch to go. One side of the sleeve does have a slight bit of texturing, suggesting that it’s meant to be worn under the digit, but it can be worn more ring-style, with the wearer’s finger itself then transmitting the vibrations.

My only qualm here is I think this should be far earlier than Day 20 in the calendar. By this point we’ve had a dildo, multiple anal toys, and some light BDSM gear. I think this would be far better suited to an early slot in the calendar, helping to bridge that gap for couples new to bringing toys into their bedroom.

Day 21: Sex Position Snap Card Game

Snap is not exactly what comes to mind when I think about sexy games, and I say this as somebody who has played Strip Magic The Gathering. The cards are pretty basic, with just a diagram of positions, and no information on how to get into them, how easy they are to hold, what additions you can make, what kind of stimulation you get from them, or anything else that might potentially be useful.

The illustrations here fall into those ‘oh, we were not in mind when this product was made’ category for me. The depicted couple are an M/F one, with a long haired woman (whose hair is explicitly not textured) bottoming and a man with no hair topping. It feels really limiting, particularly as — from the p-spot mentions in some of the products — the calendar was clearly designed with the fact that cis men can bottom in mind.

Also there aren’t enough cards here for the game of snap to be particularly interesting, or for the inspiration it could give couples to be varied enough to be useful. They also suffer from the general sex position industrial complex issue of having deeply unsexy names for some positions, and a weird (and slightly jarring) aversion to calling 69-ing 69-ing.

Day 22: Under Mattress Restraints

While this isn’t a particularly groundbreaking product, it is one of the items from this calendar I knew I was going to get a lot of use out of going in. These under mattress restraints make it easier to tie somebody spread out on a bed, and while they’re intended to be used with the cuffs earlier in this calendar, there’s nothing to stop you using your own cuffs.

It’s pretty basic — some webbing with four o-rings — but it doesn’t need to be fancy. It’s easy to set up, has a lot of adjustability (so it can be used on a few different bed sizes, body sizes, and to various levels of strain for the bottom), and packs down to be pretty travel friendly. If I had to pick one thing to complain about it’s that the o-rings here aren’t welded, so with enough force there is a risk of breakage. But I also didn’t manage to tug it apart when testing for strength, so I think that’s a minimal risk unless you or your partner are particularly wriggly and forceful with bondage.

Day 23: Couple’s Cock Ring

I didn’t expect to like this cock ring as much as I do! As with a lot of other toys, it works with the bullet vibrator included in this calendar, but can be easily used with any other bullet vibrator of your choice (I’ll likely use it with my Tango X).

The silicone here transmits the vibrations really effectively, and I’ve found that I actually prefer the bullet’s vibrations through the textured silicone on this cock ring than I do just naked from the bullet itself. It’s well designed so that the silicone is exactly the right consistency in each part of this ring — the ring itself is flexible enough to fit a variety of different sized dicks (not as flexible as the ring from Day 6, but pretty good), while the grindable portion is thick and firm enough to actually give stimulation when grinding.

If (like me) you’re not a huge PiV person, the vibrations still transfer pretty well to a strap-on. It’s definitely not the rumbliest cockring I own (the Hot Octopuss Jett is hard to beat), but it’s definitely one of the items in this calendar I like the most.

Day 24: Womanizer Classic 2

I absolutely love the Womanizer Classic 2. I’ll eventually write a full length review of this toy, but for now I’ll give you the quick version. I’m used to air pulsation toys now, having tried a near dozen of them, but the Womanizer Classic 2 is by far the best sensation wise I’ve used. Fully waterproof, it’s also extremely light and the long handle makes it much more ergonomic than the other air pulsation toy I’ve reviewed this year.

The Womanizer Classic 2 has 10 intensities, although I (despite my iron clit reputation) rarely go above the third. A feature I really love that wasn’t highlighted in the Advent Calendar copy is the ‘afterglow’ feature, which reverts the Womanizer Classic 2 to its lowest setting when the power button is quickly tapped. While this is designed to avoid overstimulation after orgasm (and that’s how I’ve used it), I can also see this being useful for edging.

Because I’ve been on testosterone so long, I do sometimes come across fit problems when it comes to air pulsation toys. I didn’t have issues with fit with the Womanizer Classic 2 as it comes out of the box. For those more well-endowed than me, Womanizer also offers multiple head size options as a separate purchase.

The only small negative thing I have to say about the Womanizer Classic 2 is the noise. When pressed against a vulva, it’s perfectly fine volume wise. But pulled away, and it’s definitely a noticeable sound. While this doesn’t bother me much (I live with one of my partners and the walls we share with neighbours are pretty well soundproofed), it’s definitely a consideration other people may have.

Overall Breakdown

The calendar is definitely a mixed experience for me, with some items I love, a lot I like, and a few I hate.

For me, the best item was the Womanizer Classic 2. Honorable mentions on that front include the Orgasm Balm, G-Spot Dildo, and Nipple Clamps.

The standout worst item in my opinion is the Mini Flogger, by a wide margin. Dishonorable mentions include the Sandalwood Scented Candle (not because I hate it, but because it feels like fluff), Dice, and Sex Position Snap Card Game.

So Is It Worth It?

I’m torn on this. On a personal level, I loved the Womanizer Classic 2 enough to justify that amount of the RRP for sure, and there were more than enough other products I liked to make up the rest of the Lovehoney X Womanizer 24 Day Sex Toy Advent Calendar’s cost. However, there were enough duds and enough things I wasn’t enthused about that I’m hesitant to call the calendar a total win for me.

That said, I’m aware I’m coming at this as somebody with a much much larger than average sex toy collection. For (cishet) couples who are just starting to put together a joint collection of toys, I think it’s a pretty reasonable jumping off point to explore together. While the BDSM adjacent toys are definitely a particular weak point within the Advent Calendar as a whole, I’ll admit they’re also the kind of items people are likely to want to upgrade if they find they enjoy kinky play. The sex toys included are (for the most part) good quality, and the silicone inclusions will last a good while. My main frustrations here are mostly with what I can best describe as ‘filler fluff’ — the accessories and novelties.

I also won’t lie, reviewing this calendar with my partner is some of the most fun I’ve had with a review for a good while. Even though we didn’t open them day-by-day for Advent itself, opening each door and giving each other commentary as we opened was a really lovely bonding activity. If you’re opening this as a couple, even aside from actual product value I can see a ton of value as a fun date night adjacent activity.

Overall, there’s definitely some items I think should be reworked or removed for next year’s calendar, but I’m pretty positive on the Lovehoney X Womanizer 24 Day Sex Toy Advent Calendar!
