Review: Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildo

Occasionally, I look at sex toys and go ‘oh, that’s so weird/unusual/wild. I have to have it’. That was pretty much my exact reaction when I saw the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dual Density Dildos. Anyone who’s been following me for a while knows that I love me some dual density toys, but I’ve only seen a few with anything like moving skin before. While it’s not a dysphoria trigger for me personally, I do know some transmasc tops who have complicated feelings around their strapped-on cocks not moving in the same way permanently attached cocks do.

While I’ve seen a few dildos/prosthetics with movable ‘skin’ before, they tend towards one end of a spectrum. Either they’re very cheap and made of porous materials, or they’re very expensive and more of a prosthetic/sex doll attachment. I wouldn’t call the Strap-on-Me Sliding Skin dildos very affordable—they range from $59.99 to $89.99—but they are a lot more approachable price wise than most of the other body safe options out there. I also, as I said in my last Strap-on-Me product review, love it when products are marketed towards strap-on sex (even if Strap-on-Me’s website does that ‘being scared to mention gay strap-on sex and just talking about pegging’ thing).

One of my big complaints about the Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo also holds here, and I want to say it up front. I complained that the Ejaculating Dildo only came in black and one pale skin tone. While the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildos has an extra non-skin tone option—the Fuschia that I’m reviewing—it still only has one pale skin tone option. They do now offer multiple skin tones in their general dual density dildo line, so I hope that Strap-on-Me are planning to roll out these options to their wider range, but I do feel like offering multiple skin tones is a basic thing that toy lines should have, and not something that should need rolling out.

While they lack in skin-tone options, there are a bunch of size options for the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dual Density Dildos, ranging from Small (insertable length of just over 5 inches, maximum diameter of 1.41 inches) to XXL (insertable length of 6.5 inches and maximum diameter of 1.7 inches). There isn’t a huge jump between sizes—the medium to large jump adds just 0.25 inches length wise and 0.1 inch in extra diameter—which makes me really want to see single density sets of these toys sold as training kits.

The Sliding Skin

So the sliding ‘skin’ does not quite move like real penis skin does. And that’s to be expected— it is, after all, made of silicone! I personally think it’s close enough visually to hit most fantasies, but does leave some things to be desired. For example, I personally really like the movement of foreskin on permanently attached cocks, but the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dual Density Dildo doesn’t really work for simulating this, because the ‘loose skin’ is even around the whole penis rather than bunched up in particular places. That said, I do find it very fun to play with, even if it’s in more of a stimmy way than a horny way.

I will admit the sliding skin aspect is very much a personal taste thing— my girlfriend absolutely hates both the visual and texture of it.

Strapping On The Strap-on-Me Sliding Skin Dildo

I’m going to be honest. I really do not like strapping on this dildo. This is partly personal preference, to be fair, but I also think there’s a design oversight that feeds into my own personal biases.

I loved the heart shaped base on the Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo, and the Sliding Skin Dildo does have the same shaped base, which initially made me very hopeful for it! But the balls get in the way. I know not everyone agrees with my personal assertion that balls (with a few exceptions) are a detriment to toys I want to strap on, but in the case of this toy, they really get in the way.

They’re too large to be squeezed through the o-rings of most of my harnesses (and can’t actually get through the hole in my Aslan Jag’s leather pad), meaning the dildo is held in place around the balls and not around that nice shaped base. It still is the bit that presses against the wearer’s body, sure, but the bulkiness of the balls adds some tenting to the harness fabric or straps. It’s really just not a comfortable strapping-on dildo, which is a shame because that heart shaped base works so well on the ejaculating dildo or on the non-skin dual density toys.

Using It Internally

If the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildo isn’t a good strap-on toy, does it at least feel good internally? My answer to that is… honestly a hand wiggle and a lot of ‘ehhhh’ sounds. It does feel good—while I don’t personally feel the ‘skin’ move in use, the dual density makes it nice and plush without being too soft. It feels squishier than the NYTC Shilo, but not quite as squishy as the Real Supple Posable Dildo I own.

That’s the thing though. While the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildo does feel good, it doesn’t feel any better than any other dual density squishy dildo I own. In fact, I’d honestly say that the Real Supple feels better. That’s something I wouldn’t mind so much if the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildo was more strap-friendly (I truly hate the big fuck off suction cup of the Reel Supple), but given it isn’t, all the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildo really has going for it is the novelty.

Overall

If you are super, super into the idea of a dildo having skin that moves and want that above anything else, I’d still say the Strap-On-Me Sliding Skin Dildo is worth it by virtue of being the cheapest body safe I’m aware of. But if the novelty of that isn’t enough for you, I don’t think it has much to offer over other, cheaper dual density toys. Hell, if what you want is a dual-density dildo that’s comfortable to strap on, Strap-On-Me have already made a dildo that’s better for that. And if the strap-on use isn’t a draw for you, there’s a ton of more affordable dual density options out there.
