Review: FTM Pitstop PeenPocket

In the time that I’ve been reviewing toys, the number of mini penetrable toys (designed for people who’ve experience clitoral growth from going on testosterone) has exploded. Fellow sex blogger Mx.ed Reviews wrote a roundup of mini-penetrable options last year, and the number available has only increased since they wrote that piece.

What’s less common is mini penetrative toys that are designed to look like an extension of the wearer’s anatomy. There’s definitely a handful—I reviewed the New York Toy Collective Jack, which is a 2-in-1 packer and stroker—but it’s still an underexplored concept. I really liked using the Jack from a dysphoria perspective, and the Shotpocket (a less anatomical stroker from FTM Pitstop) was one of the toys that got me into mini-penetrable in the first place, so I was super excited to try the FTM Pitstop PeenPocket Pleasure Sleeve as an intersection of those two things.

That’s not to say that the PeenPocket doesn’t have a few really interesting unique features of its own that I wanted to check out! The base of the PeenPocket—where you penetrate it— is curved, whereas most of the other strokers I’ve tried have had either flat or vulva-like bases. I was really interested to see how this felt, both in the motion of thrusting and in how it changed how I felt about the PeenPocket in relation to my body. I was also really intrigued by the lube pocket near the PeenPocket’s tip. This little reservoir allows the wearer to store lube inside the stroker and ‘cum’ with it at the right moment. It’s a feature I’ve seen on prosthetics marketed towards transmasculine people (such as the Hot Rod from Transthetics), but never had experience with or seen at such a low price point— the PeenPocket is $49.99 to the Hot Rod’s $190.

The PeenPocket

So the PeenPocket is a penetrable toy intended for transmasculine people who’ve had clitoral growth from being on testosterone HRT. It measures around 3.5 inches in length total, although the channel is shorter than this at approximately half the length (roughly) and the actual penetrable channel is about half an inch wide. As well as a sleeve, it has a ‘lube pocket’— a reservoir in the tip that can be filled with lube to ‘cum’ at the right moment.

The PeenPocket comes in four skin tone colour options (the one I received was the lightest shade— Skin Tone 001), and costs $49.99.

Fit, Comfort, & Euphoria

For context on fit, I’ve been on T for about 7 (8?) years now, and have a pretty decent amount of bottom growth. The PeenPocket isn’t the tightest sleeve I’ve used, but it was pretty snug. I think this is in part due to the shape of that curved base, which slots against my body to create a seal really effectively.

Speaking of that curve and the good fit against my body, I was really shocked at how seamless it felt to wear the PeenPocket. The first time I used it, I had to try standing up and moving around to see if it stayed attached to me, and it was remarkably stable. FTM Pitstop does note that the PeenPocket is not meant for long term wear, so I haven’t tried wearing it for more than around 5-10 minutes, but it stays in place really well within that timeframe.

I’m far enough in transition that I have a pretty solid grasp on what makes me feel good gender wise, so I don’t have a lot of surprise gender euphoria moments any more. But wearing the PeenPocket was one of those rare moments. I ended up staring at myself in the mirror for a while after I first tried standing up with the PeenPocket on, in exactly the same way I stared at myself when I got my first binder. This is a very individual experience and I definitely don’t want to imply this is an experience all (or even most) people will have from the PeenPocket. But the feeling of ‘rightness’ from the visual is such a significant part of why I really like the PeenPocket that I wanted to discuss it.

As A Stroker

Of course, the PeenPocket isn’t just a t-dick extender. Its primary purpose is as a sleeve. The internal texture is pretty minimal, with just some ribbing, pretty similar to the ShotPocket, which I’ll compare it with more directly later on.

The simple texture doesn’t matter too much here though—the PeenPocket is closed ended, so the sensation I get from it is primarily suction. And it’s really good at that—the tight seal around my anatomy does it a lot of favours. Unlike some other sleeves I’ve tried, I don’t feel I have to be cautious about how much I move the PeenPocket, and that lends itself really well to a more classic ‘jerking off’ kind of motion. It really works so well together as a whole in terms of design and sensation.

Lube Pocket

The lube pocket is the one thing on the PeenPocket that doesn’t work for me. I think the concept is super cool, and I am a big fan of being able to ‘cum’, even solo (see my Strap-On-Me squirting dildo review). However, the volume that I’m able to put in the reservoir is very small. I used a large syringe for this, which is less messy than trying to pour lube in, but even then it’s not really a winner for me. The lube escapes the reservoir when the tip of the PeenPocket is squeezed, and because of the gentle movement and small volume of liquid, it’s more of a drip than anything else. You might find this is enough to do something for you in terms of dysphoria/gender euphoria/etc, but for me it doesn’t really add anything to the experience.

FTM Pitstop PeenPocket vs Shotpocket

On the surface, the PeenPocket and ShotPocket are broadly similar. Their penetrable channels have the same dimensions, and I thought the only difference between the two would be aesthetic. However, I can definitely feel a significant difference in use. The PeenPocket feels significantly tighter than the ShotPocket, despite the fact they’re technically the same tightness. I think this is due to the curved shape of the PeenPocket’s entrance and the suction it creates, but either way I get a lot more out of the PeenPocket than I do from the ShotPocket physically.

One of my complains about the ShotPocket (which I bought in I think 2018?) is that it feels quite loose compared to other sleeve toys I’ve tried, and this was something I was nervous about with the PeenPocket. I initially went in with the expectation that my comparison between the two would be ‘if having something anatomical doesn’t do it for you, just get the (cheaper) ShotPocket’, but in reality the PeenPocket totally outshines the ShotPocket for me!

FTM Pitstop PeenPocket vs NYTC Jack

I already mentioned the NYTC Jack, and that was the toy I really wanted to compare the PeenPocket to. They’re not the only products in the niche ‘penetrable toys for people on testosterone, that are also shaped like dicks’ market (there’s also the Gender Cat GenderExtender), they are the two I personally own.

The big difference between the two is the the Jack has balls and can serve as a packer, while the PeenPocket does neither. I do think the Jack is at best mid when it comes to packers, and I’d prefer to use any other packer I own as a daily packer. However, I’m aware I have the luxury of owning a bunch of products, and if you’re not as size-centric as me, I can see it functioning perfectly fine. While at $59 it’s $10 more expensive than the $49.99 PeenPocket, the cheapest silicone packer I’m aware of is are the $25.99 Packer Gear 4” inch packers, so it’s still cheaper than buying two product together. However, if you do have the cash to spare, I’d still recommend separating out those two product functions.

The channel to the Jack is slightly smaller and the silicone more flexible, so I do think it’s more viable for different sized anatomy. If you’re newly on T and your bottom growth size hasn’t settled yet, I think the Jack would be a safer option in terms of fit. While the suction of the PeenPocket is stronger, I feel the more intense texture of the Jack more, and in terms of sensation I’d honestly put them pretty equally.

I do prefer the visual of the PeenPocket, but this is very much a personal thing. I’m pursuing bottom surgery (which has taken a lot longer to go from pre-op discussion with surgery team to surgery date than I expected, but we don’t need to get into that right now), and specifically looking for a simple metal with monsplasty. My general bottom dysphoria feelings are that my current anatomy is fine, but I just want it to be slightly more dick-like in how it sits on my body. While the balls of the Jack are fun, the PeenPocket just fits into my mental image of my ideal junk a bit more, so I get more from the visual. Very much a ‘your milage may vary’ situation though.

Overall, while the PeenPocket fits me and my body better than the NYTC Jack, I don’t think either is clearly a stronger product than the other.

Overall

I really love the PeenPocket! I was expecting it to have the same caveats as the ShotPocket, but it’s significatly stronger as a design and product. While I think the lube pocket is a weak point on the design and I don’t get much from it, the PeenPocket is otherwise really well suited to me and my body. I’d even tentatively say it’s my favourite sleeve I’ve tried. While that’s in part personal preference, I still think it’s an exceptionally well made and designed product, regardless of individual taste.
