Review: Pop ‘N Play Ejaculating Packer

The original Pop Dildo was the first ejaculating dildo I ever knew of, way back when and before I even thought about becoming a sex toy reviewer. While there are now other ejaculating dildos on the market, the original Pop (from back when it was called Semenette, produced with Fun Factory and had a shape super similar to the Fun Factory Boss) was discontinued a few years ago.

But Pop is back! Acquired by Tantus earlier this year, they’ve started creating ejaculating dildos again. While they don’t use the shape of the original Pop Dildo, there’s still a ton of cool designs. Most of them veer more non-representational (even if they do come in skin tones as well as bright colours), but one part of the line goes for a more realistic look. It’s also the part of the line that caught my eye in particular—the ejaculating packers.

The Pop N’ Play Silicone Squirting Packer Dildo

Available in three skin tones—using one of the pink, purple, or blue tones from the rest of the line would be cool, but I’m glad that unlike some alternatives we even have multiple skin tones—this packer costs $119.99. It has a total length of 5 inches, insertable length of 4 inches and circumference of 3.75 inches, placing it on the small side for a dildo, but a very reasonable size for a packer.

The Pop N’ Play Silicone Squirting Packer Dildo is the first product of its kind on the market. And I’m super excited about it! Ejaculating dildos and packers are both niche products and not for everyone, but personally I am right in the Venn diagram of the target markets for the Pop N’ Play Packer.

I definitely went in to testing and reviewing it with a little bit of scepticism. One of the things I was super concerned about was whether it could be firm enough to actually be useful for penetration while also remaining soft enough to use as a packer. I don’t think I was wrong to be sceptical, but the Pop N’ Play Dildo also shone in really surprising ways, especially in comparison to the Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo, which is the ejaculating toy I currently use most.

Assembling the Pop Ejaculating Packer

One of the things I knew about the Pop ’N Play line going in was that there was some assembly required with their toys. What I mean by this is that the silicone tubing isn’t actually fixed in place, but can be totally removed for cleaning (and the toy comes with some spares just in case). This was a huge net positive for me—something I get concerned about with dildos that have tubing is the hygiene of parts of the toy I can’t see. Being able to totally remove the tubing for cleaning relieved this concern totally.

Originally, I thought actually putting the tubing in was a total arse-ache. However, after a few times using the Pop Ejaculating Packer… I realised that I was the problem. My attempts to insert the tubing had involved pushing it through the base of the dildo, rather than through the ‘urethra’ as if I were sounding it. Even with the included Pop Powder (which is just corn starch btw, don’t feel tied to buying branded powder), it was incredibly hard to push into place, because one end of the tubing is flared. This is something that is incredibly obvious in hindsight, and I originally thought of omitting from this review as it’s a little embarrassing. But if I’m stupid enough to try doing it the wrong way, somebody else will likely make the same mistake too!

Once I’d figured out how to actually put the Pop ’N Play Packer together properly? Super easy to construct.

Does The Ejaculation Work?

I honestly have very little to say about the ejaculation function. In a good way! Once the tubing is constructed, it’s easy to use the ejaculation feature. I will say that—while it’s realistic in terms of amount of fluid—I do find the included syringe doesn’t allow for the dramatic ejaculations I personally prefer, so I have switched it out for a larger one. But other than that, I have no complaints or even much commentary about the Pop N’ Play Ejaculating Packer’s ejaculation.

Aside from the fact that despite the picture here, the Pop N’ Play Ejaculating Packer can cum quite hard and fast, just not while I’m also holding a camera and trying to concentrate on taking good pictures. I’ve managed to accidentally cum on the ceiling.

Cum Alternatives (AKA Lube Recommendations)

I did a longer comparison of fake cums in my Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo review, so I’ll just give a tl;dr of options in this one.

If you want a dedicated lube designed to look like cum, there’s a fair few options, but very few of them don’t contain sketchy ingredients like glycerine. Pop does have their own cum lube, which should be fine for most people. The only issue with that for me is that it contains propylene glycol, which I know I personally have a sensitivity to.

Bad Dragon makes the only option I’ve found that doesn’t have at least some ingredients that would make me not want a lube inside me. I’m not a huge fan of their business practices, and you might be less sensitive to some ingredients than I am, but currently they’re the only option that I’m confident won’t irritate my body or those of my partners. There’s a reason I’ve since bought more bottles of it since the Strap-On-Me dildo review, despite my mixed feelings on the company.

Hybrid lubes aren’t necessarily marketed as being ‘cum-like’, but they can work really well! As with Strap-On-Me, I did a patch test of Sliquid Silk on the Pop N’ Play Squirting Packer, and I’d recommend testing your hybrid lubes with all silicone toys. This is expensive, but I have found mixing 1 part Silk to 2 parts water works well for making each squirt cheaper and delivering a less realistic/more fantasy ’gush’.

If the visuals don’t matter to you, any lube (I use Sliquid Sassy as my default) can also be used. And if your interest in an ejaculating dildo is watersports related, water (either plain or mixed with powdered fake pee) is an option.

But Is It Packable?

This is one of the things I was most sceptical about with the Pop Squirting Packer. Before I knew that the tubing was removable, I was concerned it would make the Pop Packer difficult to fit into packing underwear or make it uncomfortable to wear. While the removable tubing does alleviate this, as a whole the Pop N’ Play Silicone Squirting Packer is… not great as a packer.

Something I knew was going to be a difficulty with this toy was making it work well for both the packing and playing aspects. It’s something I think all dual-purpose toys like this struggle with. In the case of the Pop N’ Play Packer, the shaft is cast sticking directly out from the balls, in an erect shape. This means that the ejaculation feature is more dramatic, and I think it’d be less interesting visually if the shaft wasn’t straight. But it does—with the pliable but not soft soft silicone of the Pop Packer—mean that wearing it and having it not look like you had a boner… difficult.

I think somebody could make this work as a normal packer. A tight packing jock (like the SpareParts Pete Freestyle) and jeans would be able to keep it under control. But with my preferred packing underwear (briefs from Cake Bandit), there’s no way to make this packer not stick out a little bit. It still does have a place in my personal packing arsenal as a ‘wear under leather pants at a play party’ packer, but I realise that’s a niche experience.

Using It As A Dildo

While the Pop N’ Play Squirting Packer disappointed me as a packer, I was really pleasantly surprised by how well it worked as a dildo. I was expecting the hollow shaft to collapse a little if tubing wasn’t inserted, but the silicone is firm and thick enough that it holds really well.

It is significantly shorter than other toys from the Pop line, and the short length means getting good thrusts when strapping it on will be a bit of a challenge. But it still works very well! I do have some mild concerns about gunk collecting in the ‘urethra’, but as the Pop Packer is silicone it can be sanitised through boiling, so—imo at least—it’s not a huge issue

Strapping-On The Pop Ejaculating Dildo

Another pleasant surprise was strapping on the Pop N’ Play Ejaculating Packer. I normally don’t really like strapping on toys with balls— I find they make the toy sit weirdly, and I don’t feel I have as much control as with a circular base. However, I actually really liked the balls when I strapped on the Pop N’ Play Packer.

I think this is for a couple of reasons. The most recent ball-ed dildo I liked this much was the Vulpini Taro, and both that and the Pop Packer have longer, more oval shaped bases than round. I think this means the balls feel like they ‘cup’ my body and sit in the right place. In both cases the balls are also cast into the base rather than being external (like the Colours dildos or other similar designs), which I think helps with them feeling less superfluous to me as a strap-on wearer.

While the Pop N’ Play Ejaculating Packer definitely can be used penetratively, I think the length of it is a weakness in terms of strap-on play. Strapping on a toy will always mean it loses a few inches of length (from both the harness and from the fact bodies don’t perfectly slot together), and I think the Pop Packer really suffers here.

But I personally find the ‘cupping my body and feeling more of an extension of it’ element to make me feel connected with the Pop Packer more than my other ejaculating dildos. It’s a ‘your milage may vary’ situation, but for me the trade off with only doing gentle and shallow penetration (or strap-on blowjobs) is worth it.

Pop Ejaculating Packer vs the Strap-On Me Ejaculating Dildo

I think for most people, the Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo will meet their needs better than the Pop Ejaculating Packer. However, I do think this is a question of product type rather than the Pop brand being worse than Strap-On-Me. In face, I prefer the construction and silicone of the Pop Ejaculating Packer.

I also think the removable tubing really makes a difference for me, and—with the caveat I don’t have direct experience with the product itself, and this is based off cross referencing info from two other toys—I’d even potentially suggest people looking at the Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo also check out the dildos from the Pop line. And as a bonus—unlike Strap-On-Me—they actually do the basic thing of offering multiple skin tones in their dildos.

Overall

I really like the Pop N’ Play Silicone Squirting Packer Dildo! I do think my preferences are very specific, and that if you’re just looking for an ejaculating dildo in general it’s likely not the right product for you. However, the improvements it has over the Strap-On-Me Ejaculating Dildo in terms of disassembly and colour options are significant enough that I’d be happy to recommend the Pop line (which does include more general dildos) over the Strap-On-Me toys. I’m really pleased to see the Pop line return, and I’m especially excited that it came back with such a good (and unique) product in its lineup!

  1. The Wicked Simply Hybrid is a popular one here for ejaculating toys, being hybrid it’s obviously going to be slicker feeling but makes a really visually nice lube for cum
