Review: SheVibe x Uberrime Kraken’s Revenge

Tentacles were, if not my earliest ‘non-standard’ sexual interest, one of the earliest I can remember. I especially remember how much the idea of a tentacle dildo blew my mind the first time I came across them, and I still have a huge soft spot for tentacle dildos of all kinds.

The Kraken’s Revenge — a collaboration between SheVibe and Uberrime — is the most detailed and textured tentacle dildo I’ve ever come across. When mine arrived, I took some time just admiring the sculpt, because it’s a real work of art! Instead of being just a single solid tentacle shape, the design depicts multiple intertwining tentacles, curled around treasure chests and an unfortunate diver. If you look closely, you can even spot the eye of the creature itself!

While that added texture means it’s not a smooth shape, the Kraken’s Revenge has a generally conical shape, with a diameter that starts at a more modest 1.16 inches, but increases to a chunky 2.5 inches near the base. I did find the graduation to be pretty smooth, but if you’re not used to large toys, the larger end of the Kraken’s Revenge may take some working up to!

The Kraken’s Revenge comes in three colour options — a blue and UV pink marble called Triton’s Voyage, a blue and UV green called Neptune’s Kingdom, and a blue-green called Nemo’s Descent. My Kraken’s Revenge is Nemo’s Descent, and the two marbles are slightly more expensive than this solid colour option.

Texture and Density

I’ve already waxed poetic about the heavy texture of the Kraken’s Revenge, and this is — in my opinion — the big selling point of this dildo. The texture is ever present and varied enough that it never feels predictable, in exactly the right way to match all those cephalopod fantasies. The heavy texture also means that this is a particularly loud dildo to use — I tend to drench my toys in lube, and the Kraken’s Revenge takes that and turns it into wonderfully wet sounds.

The level of texture could be overpowering on another dildo, but it works on the Kraken’s Revenge because of how soft the silicone is. The shore is 0050, meaning it’s a bit firmer than a gel shoe insert, but less firm than a rubber band. It’s a good choice here — soft enough that the texture isn’t too much, but not too soft that it’s lost altogether.

The softness does, however, have an impact in a few other ways. While the Kraken’s Revenge has a soft curve to it — meaning it can be used for g-spot or prostate stimulation — the softness means it doesn’t provide a lot of pressure internally, and can even fold a little when inserted. If you’re looking for more targeted stimulation, you’d be better off looking for something significantly firmer.

Additionally, while I’m generally a big fan of soft silicone for anal toys, it does mean I can run into problems with insertion. Once inside, softer toys are way more comfortable — and I tend to love them anally because of this — but they can be a bit of a fight to get inside my butthole. It’s not a dealbreaker, especially given I prefer soft toys in other ways, but it is something to keep in mind.

Using the Kraken’s Revenge Vaginally

So as a caveat, I’m not able to take the Kraken’s whole length vaginally. I lost a bit of vaginal depth following a hysterectomy earlier this year, and I also don’t think I’d be able to take the base diameter even if I was.

In my opinion, the Kraken does sit at a good middle point of ‘intense’ and ‘yielding’. Even drenched in lube, the texture can edge right up to the line of ‘too much’ for me, and if it were in silicone any firmer I think it’d be solidly over that line.

The soft silicone also means that even though it has a roughly conical shape, the dildo bends and moves with my body in a way that makes it feel far less like I’m being poked than a firmer and more traditional shape (like the Tantus Cone) would be. Instead, it feels like I imagine an actual tentacle would — more fluid, with a constant soft suction sensation from the suckers. I was a little concerned that some of the aspects of the texturing — the diver, eye, and treasure chests in particular — might feel a little odd in use, but they don’t feel uncomfortable or strange at all.

My one caveat vaginally is that, as I said, the Kraken’s Revenge isn’t quite firm enough for targeted g-spot stimulation. This isn’t a dealbreaker for me, as that’s not one of the main draws for dildos for me personally, but it is something to take into consideration.

Using the Kraken’s Revenge Anally

That soft taper shape meant I was deadly curious to try the Kraken out anally.

So while I’m used to softer silicones that can be a challenge to insert anally, the Kraken was really something else in terms of challenge. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much trouble actually getting a dildo to go inside my ass before! The soft thin tip bent very easily when I tried to push the Kraken deeper inside me, so even though the thinness makes it very easy to get the head of the Kraken inside me, it took a very long time to actually be able to get much more of the dildo in.

I will say once the Kraken’s Revenge was actually inserted it was a delight. The firmness-texture combo means it’s — just as with vaginal use — right on the edge of too much, in a really nice way. But the effort it took to actually insert the Kraken means I don’t think I’ll be reaching for it super often, as it’s just a bit too annoying to try and insert.

As A Grinder

While I generally use dedicated grinding toys now, my first loves when it came to grinding on toys were dildos, and the heavy texture of the Kraken’s Revenge made me really want to try this out!

The softness and bendability of the shaft makes it a really nice sensory experience to rub against my genitals externally, again with the kind of fluid motion that makes it feel very authentically tentacle-like. The texture is very pronounced, and while finding an angle for the Kraken’s Revenge that’s comfortable and gives me a lot of access to that texture took a bit of experimenting, it works really excellently for grinding on and humping!

I’d actually go so far as to say out of all my dildos, I get the most out of humping the Kraken, with one exception.

Overall

My one big criticism of the Kraken’s Revenge is one you might have seen coming — it is an absolute pain to clean. My usual ‘soap and warm water if it’s just been used vaginally’ doesn’t really work here, and I’ve found I’ve had to scrub at all the little crevasses with a toothbrush, then boiling it just to be on the safe side. It’s something I knew was coming and is the price you’ll always pay for heavy textured dildos, but is something I wanted to flag.

Additionally, while anal safe, the Kraken’s Revenge isn’t super strap-on friendly. I have made it work with my Babes N Horny Paris harness, and it’s actually been pretty stable and comfortable despite the fact it doesn’t have a traditional shape flare to the base. That said, my Paris harness is designed so it can hold much larger toys than any of my other harnesses, and I think the stability and comfort there is a particularly good match up of o-ring size and dildo size — I can’t guarantee there’s another combination that’d work.

That said, if cleaning isn’t a deal-breaker for you and you’re willing to experiment with or forgo strap-on use, the Kraken’s Revenge is absolute king of texture among all the dildos I’ve ever owned or reviewed. It may not have the most intense g-spot or prostate stimulation, but for those with specifically tentacle related fantasies, the way the Kraken moves, feels, and sounds will really suit those fantasies.
