Review: Hankey’s Toys Alien Breeder

A few months ago I saw a claim that H.R. Giger once said his art was an attempt to express the experience he had being spitroasted by two trans women while fading into the effects of LSD. While it’s not confirmed that he said this (and I’m loath to automatically take it as truth), I did think about it when I first opened my Alien Breeder from Hankey’s Toys.

The first thing I have to say is that the sculpt on this toy is absolutely beautiful. The top half of the Alien Breeder is relatively smooth and carapace like with only a little bit of detailing, but the underside is a wonderfully intricate biomechanical design. The tapered tip resembles a xenomorph head, with a central spine-like element that runs the entire length of the toy. About midway down the shaft there’s a bulge in the design shaped like a ribcage and sternum, which in practice feels and functions like knots you may have seen on other fantasy toys. Alongside these, there’s parts of the design that look like wires or tubes, as well as other spine-like parts. I honestly could spend hours describing this toy, because it is just so intricate.

And the second thing? This dildo leans big in sizing. Hankey’s Toys leans towards making large toys, so look at specific measurements rather than relying on sizing vibes. My Alien Breeder is a medium, and that still has an insertable length of 9.37 inches, with a circumference of 8.75 inches around the widest point in the middle. In the largest XXL size, those measurements are 13.37 inches insertable and a whopping 12.5 inch circumference around the swell/knot. Even the small size is pretty big, with a 7.5 inch insertable length and maximum circumference of 6.87 inches. While Hankey’s Toys do offer an Xtra Small line for some of their toys, at the time of writing the Alien Breeder is not among them, so make sure your eyes aren’t bigger than your hole!

Customisation Options

Hankey’s Toys offers a lot of customisation options, from the choice to include a hole for Vac-U-Lock attachments to firmness and colour options. I chose classic black for my Alien Breeder, but there’s a lot of options including UV colours and custom marbling. In terms of firmness, Hankey’s Toys offers four standard firmness options — 40% Soft, 75% Soft, Medium, and Extra Firm. You can also custom order a packer firmness, although this isn’t recommended for insertable toys (and I mostly use my packer firmness toys for grinding and humping).

I chose for my Alien Breeder to be in 75% soft firmness, and I think this was the right choice. In a medium, I think the texturing of the Breeder would be just a little too much, while at 40% soft I think it’d be a little too soft for that texture to come through (and also have the squishy silicone issue when it comes to anal insertion). The only comment I have on the 75% silicone is that the Alien Breeder does have a tendency to droop a little when worn in a strap-on harness. However, the droop is very slight and only at the thin ‘neck’ below the knotted part of the toy, and I don’t find it prevents me from or gets in the way of topping.

Using the Alien Breeder

So while the tip of the Alien Breeder is tapered for slightly easier insertion, that large size means it’s not a toy I can use straight away. I tend to have to stretch up for the Breeder, regardless of anal or vaginal use. I also highly recommend lube, as the texture tends to guzzle any natural lubrication. As a bonus though, I’ve found lube really brings out the glossiness in the black silicone — the shine reminds me of latex, which is really sexy visually.

I’ve found my preferred way to use the Breeder is primarily as a stretching dildo rather than a toy for target stimulation. That said, it’s pretty versatile for different kinds of targeted stimulation. While the curve is a little more shallow than a traditional g-spot dildo, I’ve found it works quite well for a-spot stimulation, especially because of the length. And if you are looking for g-spot stimulation specifically, the texture on the underside can be utilised for this really effectively.

The swell in the centre feels really good. It has that classic knot ‘pop’ feeling, and while the neck below it doesn’t jump down in circumference in the same way a classic knot shape does, the neck thins out. It doesn’t have the same snug feeling as a more traditional knotted shape, but this does in turn mean the Alien Breeder doesn’t resist being pulled out as much as those shapes do.

I won’t lie — when bottoming with my Breeder, I tended not to be super interested in thrusting it so haven’t got much out of this. The texture is a lot, and the size of the medium Alien Breeder means I mostly use it as a stuffing toy rather than a thrusting one. The 75% silicone is the right choice here for me — soft enough to be comfortable to clench down onto, without too much give.

However, while I don’t thrust it much when bottoming I have topped with it in a strap-on harness, and really appreciate the slightly lowered resistance to movement there. When strapping on a conventionally shaped knotted toy, I often find I end up limited to just thrusting with the not knotted portion of shaft, working up to inserting the knot, and then having very limited motion once it’s actually in.

Overall

The Hankey’s Toys Alien Breeder is an absolutely beautiful toy. The heavily detailed texturing does have a tendency to collect gunk, but that’s pretty common for heavily textured dildos and can be solved with some toothbrush scrubbing (please use a new toothbrush set aside for this purpose and not an actual toothbrush you use). I think it the shape is really well suited to a-spot stimulation, and the swell in the middle has something to offer people who are interested in the sensation side of knots but aren’t particularly into the visual elements of traditional knotted dildos.

If I have one caveat to recommending the Alien Breeder, it’s an emphasis that this dildo is challenging and size royalty aimed in terms of dimensions. And that’s less a caveat and more to state that I would love to see this toy added to Hankey’s Toys Xtra Small line!
